Warframe Frost Build Guide

Frost is a Tank/caster who excels at defense. He is slow, but very durable. He is also excellent at sheep dogging n00bs who are just starting the game. His low speed isn’t a liability since they don’t move quickly, and Snow Globe allows you to revive them unperturbed. Ice Wave and Avalanche are good attack spells and Snow Globe is arguably the best defensive ability in the game.

Aura: I use Energy Siphon, even though it doesn’t match the aura polarity (by default, D). Frost tends to be stationary during defense missions, so can’t go running around to collect Energy orbs.

Powers: Snow Globe is the centerpiece power of Frost. It allows you to set up a protective barrier anywhere you want, allowing you to fire on enemies with impunity and defend objectives. Avalanche is a good ultimate, combining CC with decent damage. Ice wave is great for clearing a hallway, like Slash Dash, but without the mobility. Freeze is ok, but usually isn’t worth the energy.

Polarities: D and -. Use D for Redirection to maximize those massive shields and the – for Fleeting Expertise or Rush. Frost is very slow, and so Rush is almost necessary to keep up with your group. You can drop it for Streamline if you are doing a Defense or Mobile Defense mission where you won’t be moving much.

Corrupted/Nightmare Mods: Fleeting Expertise, Blind Rage, and Transient Fortitude.

Overextended is only useful for Hijack missions when you need the Globe to be big enough to cover the power core over a large area. Vigor and Fortitude are good, but not necessary.

Syndicate Mods:
Freeze Force is not worth it because you have to directly hit your ally. If you are playing with friends, and you can get them to stand still long enough to use it, it might be useful for high level stuff.
Ice Wave Impedance is useful for Defense missions since you can slow enemies down from getting to the pod.
Chilling Globe is very useful against Infested, and to a lesser degree, Grineer.

Utility Mods: Rush.

Other mods: Frost’s powers have been reworked quite a bit lately. Duration is no longer useful, whereas it used to be pretty much the only thing that mattered. Now you want to maximize power strength first and foremost.

Intensify helps all of Frost’s powers. Stretch is good if you like to use Ice Wave and Avalanche. Use Steel Fiber if your Globe is getting taken quickly. If you use Blind Rage, use Streamline in addition to Fleeting Expertise.

Other Builds: For Hijack missions, use Overextended, Fleeting Expertise, Stretch, Streamline (ranked up to the efficiency cap), Intensify, Redirection, and Vigor (for extra shields). You can just follow the core at a walking pace, tanking the shield drain and dropping snow globes every 10 seconds or so. Power strength is not as important because the core is moving and the globes are not.

Unpotatoed Build: Rejuvenation, Redirection, Streamline, Intensify, Rush.
