I am endorsing Gary Johnson for President. Both he and Green party candidate Jill Stein support an end to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, ending the war on marijuana (and drugs generally), and reducing restrictions on immigration, all of which I support. I support his economic policies as well, and I think he would be the only candidate who would end the vast power Wall Street holds over our government, both Republicans and Democrats. He is a highly qualified candidate with executive government experience as the former New Mexico governor. If he gets 5% of the vote, the Libertarian party will gain access to federal campaign funding (although to be honest, the law will probably just get rewritten to exclude them). This is the best election in a long time to vote 3rd party. The only wasted vote is a vote for a candidate who won’t do a good job as President. I don’t support Jill Stein because of her goofy economic policies, but they are still better than the mainstream candidates, so if you want to vote for her, go for it. Or, you could just not vote.
Update: Although Gary Johnson didn’t do well in the election, yesterday wasn’t a bad day for liberty overall. Both Maryland and Maine passed gay marriage bills and Washington and Colorado legalized marijuana.
