A theory of sharing articles

The value of a stream of shared items is proportional to 1) The quality of the article, and 2) the likelihood that the audience wouldn’t have read the article without your share. The quality part is intuitive. The higher the chance your audience would have read your shared article anyway, the lower your value added as an article sharer. By this theory, I likely overshare from Marginal Revolution.
